Congratulations to Victorians Simon Hinge and Stephen Lester who teamed up with ex Victorian and budding Kiwi Ella Pattison and Sydneysider Nye Griffiths to take out the Open teams at the recent Spring Nationals. Playing in a field studded with all the big names of Australian & New Zealand Bridge they won the qualifying rounds, won their semi-final, and then beat the top seeded team (MACE from New Zealand which included Ella’s father in law Tom Jacob) by a comfortable margin. A fantastic effort!
