The VBA wishes to advise that the Victor Champion Cup will definitely be taking place in 2022 at its usual time of the Queen’s Birthday Weekend (June 8-13). Our preferred option remains to hold this event face-to-face.
However, at present (March 17), we are unable to confirm the venue for the event owing to disruption caused by a currently incomplete AFL schedule for Marvel Stadium and other issues beyond our control arising from COVID restrictions and labour shortages in Melbourne. We are working hard to resolve these matters as soon as possible.
Our next report will be on or shortly after 31 March. If a venue cannot be finalized in a realistic time frame, then announcements will be made regarding arrangements for an online 2022 VCC..
