It is with sadness that we pass on the news that Henri de Jong passed away on Saturday 5th October
Henri was probably the VBA’s longest serving member and was playing here as recently as last month, he will be remembered as a great club member and a very fine player. Henri was a Silver Grand Master whose bridge career spanned many decades – most of these with his long term partner, John Pettitt and more recently, Sam Arber with whom he won the ANC Seniors Tournament in 2012.
There will be a service for Henri this coming Thursday (Oct 10th) at the St Kilda synagogue, 12 Charnwood Grove, St Kilda, at 7pm.
