The Ocean Grove Bridge Club recently hosted 4 members from the Melton Bridge Club for lunch and an afternoon of Bridge. The Melton Bridge Club recently lost all of their Bridge equipment in a fire in their community centre and the Ocean Grove Bridge Club were pleased to hand over a cheque for $500 to assist a fellow Bridge Club in time of need.

Joan Butts Is Coming Back! Following the success of her visit in September, the VBA is delighted to welcome Joan, the national Director of Teaching of the ABF, for another continuing teacher development day on Saturday 11th November. Participation counts towards ABF accreditation as a bridge teacher. All interested in becoming a teacher of bridge and all teachers throughout Victoria are most welcome.

You may have heard that the Melton Club recently lost a lot of their equipment in a fire. While Melton is a young and growing club, there was still about $1000 worth of damage to tables, clothes, boards, cards, etc. Club Secretary Rosemary Hare said it was lucky she had taken the computer & bridgemates home or they would also have been lost.
